Happy New Year! I’m Dr. Sunny Dhesi, and I’m thrilled to kick off 2024 with our latest newsletter. At Vysana, we’re dedicated to providing insights into private medicine, mindfulness, menopause matters, women’s health, and aesthetic treatments. You can watch the video below or read on to find out… Can you get filler in your bum? Plus top winter skin tips.
Can you get filler in your bum?
One of the most talked-about trends in aesthetics is the use of dermal fillers for buttock enhancement, a procedure often associated inadvertantly with celebrities like the Kardashians. However, this practice comes with significant risks. Injecting fillers into areas like the buttocks, which are muscular and highly vascularised, can be extremely dangerous. The risk of complications, such as vascular occlusions leading to tissue necrosis, is high due to the dense blood supply in these regions. There are other options for the buttock region such as radio frequency. However, dermal fillers are safe to use in the face for fine lines and wrinkles
Are dermal fillers safe to use?
In the Vysana Clinic, we prioritise patient safety above all. We use advanced ultrasound technology to visualise the treatment area, ensuring that we avoid major blood vessels during filler injections. This approach significantly reduces the risk of complications and ensures a safer treatment experience. We always recommend that you check your Aesthetic practioner is medically qualified. Whilst it’s not a legal requirement, we believe it’s much safer.
Safe Face: Championing Safety in Aesthetics
As a Safe Face accredited clinic, Vysana adheres to the highest safety standards. Safe Face is a government-accredited body advocating for safety in the aesthetics industry. They emphasise the need for regulation, especially concerning procedures like dermal fillers. We support their campaign for increased government oversight to ensure patient safety across the industry.
Winter Skin Care: Managing Dry and Dehydrated Skin
Winter can be harsh on your skin, leading to dryness and dehydration. Here are some tips to keep your skin healthy during these colder months:
- Avoid Over-Exfoliation: Be cautious with products like Vitamin C serums, which can have exfoliating properties.
- Use Cream-Based Cleansers: These are gentler and more nourishing for winter skin.
- Layer Your Skincare: Start with a serum, followed by an occlusive balm like our Made of More Rescue Balm, and finish with a moisturizer.
- Protect with SPF: Even in winter, SPF is crucial to protect your skin from sun damage.
