FOREHEAD
In the battle against forehead lines, your body produces two essential proteins: collagen and elastin. Both of these proteins keep your skin smooth and taut, allowing you to look youthful.
Unfortunately, as you age, your body starts producing less of these proteins, resulting in forehead lines. Not only that, you’ll encounter wrinkles across other areas of your face. Usually, collagen and elastin allow your skin to move, before bouncing back into place. When you age, they break down, which means forehead lines eventually settle in.
As you may have guessed, the appearance of wrinkles is an inevitable part of ageing. However, you can prevent them, and when they do appear, there are treatments you can turn to so they become less apparent. Through a combination of preventative measures and procedures such as Botox type injections, you can tackle your forehead lines and walk away from our clinic with a confidence boost.
FOREHEAD SKIN WRINKLES AND THEIR RISK FACTORS
Although we’re all guaranteed to encounter forehead skin wrinkles one day, some people place themselves at higher risk than others.
For example, if you spend lots of time in the sun, you expose yourself to UV rays. While many individuals know that doing this increases the risk of cancer, they’re not aware of the effects it has on the ageing process.
UV rays permeate into your skin and disrupt how well your body produces collagen and elastin. So, if you’re doing any of the following, you’re accelerating the wrinkle forming process:
• Heading out into hot sun without suncream on
• Spending time in the sun when it’s at its warmest
• Using tanning beds
• Opting to use tan accelerators
• Not using a moisturiser that contains an SPF factor
UV ray exposure, however, isn’t the only risk factor for developing forehead lines early. There are other lifestyle factors you may want to address.
